Kilchoman – Sanaig

Kilchoman Sanaig is a peated single malt from Islay, named after a small stream near the distillery. It was first intended for the French market, and received a worldwide release in 2016. The whisky matures mainly in oloroso sherry casks, which make up 70% of the maturation. Islay peat, sweet sherry flavours and a hint of bourbon cask finesse are in balance. The nose is intense, with peat, raisins and dried fruit, alongside fresh pear and orange. The palate is rich and slightly sweet, with overripe plums and cherries, caramel, chocolate and smoky barbecue notes. The finish is long, sweet and spicy.
