Kilchoman Small Batch Release is a limited-edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 47.7% ABV in a 75cl bottle without chill filtration. A total of 2,550 bottles were produced.
The whisky is a vatting of 75% bourbon barrels, 20% port casks and 5% sherry casks, made from 100% malted barley grown, malted, distilled and matured on Kilchoman Farm on Islay's western coast. The cask mix adds red fruit and dried fruit sweetness to the distillery's citrus-accented peat smoke.
The nose combines citrus, floral notes and clean peat smoke, with boiled sweets and vanilla. The palate is fruit-forward, with red fruits, baking spices and briny smoke over cereal malt and caramel. The finish is medium to long, with dried fruit and sweet smoke.
