Kilkerran 12 Year Old (2019) (46%)

This is a 12-year-old Campbeltown single malt from Kilkerran, the name used for whisky made at the Glengyle distillery. It is lightly peated and double distilled, and it was bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtering or added colour. The whisky was matured 70% in ex-bourbon casks and 30% in ex-sherry casks. The 2019 release is described as having a nose of dried fruit, cherry and marzipan, with peat and oak. The palate brings citrus fruit, orange peel, vanilla, cream toffee and honey, and the finish is long, smooth and velvety, with lemon and meringue.
