Kilkerran 12 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt distilled at Glengyle, the first new distillery in the area in 125 years, revived in 2004. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtering.
The whisky is matured in 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks.
The nose is typically described as oak, toasted marshmallow, dried fruit pudding, cherry and marzipan, with a hint of peat. The palate brings citrus, orange peel, vanilla, cream caramel and honey in a creamy texture. The finish is long and smooth, with lemon meringue and a salty edge.
