Kilkerran 12 Years is a single malt from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The barley is malted at the neighbouring Springbank distillery, and the spirit is filled into bourbon hogsheads and sherry butts, which are stored at Springbank.
The nose combines dried fruit, cherries and marzipan with a hint of smoke. On the palate it is clearly fruity, with orange peel alongside vanilla, caramel and honey. The finish is soft and mild, with lemon pastry and slightly salty notes, while fine, spicy oak sets the tone.
