Kilkerran 12 Years is a Campbeltown single malt from the Glengyle distillery, and the first bottling in the Kilkerran core range. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured 70% in ex-bourbon casks and 30% in ex-sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.
The nose offers oak with toasted marshmallows, dried fruit, cherries, marzipan and a light note of smoke. The palate opens fruity with citrus and orange, then moves to vanilla, butterscotch, honey and sponge cake. The finish is medium in length, rounded and soft, with a slightly oily saltiness.
