Kilkerran 12 Years Old is the core bottling from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, here in its 2025 release. It is a single malt matured for twelve years in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
Glengyle was founded in 1872 and reopened in 2004. It uses lightly peated barley, and the whisky has an oily texture with maritime influence and a sweet, fruity side.
Confectionery aromas of Turkish delight and marzipan come with citrus, vanilla and a subtle smokiness. Pear drops, dried fruit, butterscotch and sticky toffee pudding appear too, along with a gentle saltiness.
