Kilkerran 16 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This latest release was matured in a mix of 70% ex-bourbon, 20% ex-sherry and 10% ex-rum casks.
Glengyle was founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, stopped production in 1925 and resumed in 2004. It is one of three distilleries still working in Campbeltown.
On the palate there is a sweet maltiness, along with the delicate maritime and dunnage floor notes associated with Campbeltown whiskies.
