This is the 16 year old single malt from Kilkerran, the whisky made at the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
Glengyle was originally built in 1872 and closed in 1925. In 2000 Hedley Wright, who also owns Springbank, bought the buildings to re-establish the distillery, and production started in March 2004. The whisky carries the Kilkerran name because a blend called Glengyle already exists.
