Kilkerran 8 Years Old Cask Strength Batch #1 is a single malt from the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, matured in bourbon casks and bottled in 2017 at 56.2% ABV. It is the first batch of the Cask Strength series, with 9,000 bottles released worldwide, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines fresh citrus and malt with ripe fruit, vanilla and light spice. On the palate it is full and powerful, with malt, citrus and fruity sweetness, while vanilla and soft wood from the bourbon cask add balance. The finish is long and warming, with malt, citrus, spice and gentle oak.
