Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 10 is the tenth batch of this Campbeltown single malt from the Glengyle distillery. It is made from heavily peated malt, at around 84 PPM.
The whisky matures in bourbon and sherry casks and is bottled at cask strength, around 57.8%. It is non chill filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose starts with peat smoke, wet wood and sea salt, followed by vanilla, honey, citrus, red fruit, leather and ash. On the palate it is full and oily, with smoke, toffee, burnt sugar, roasted nuts and orange peel. The finish is long, warm and lightly salty, with ash, vanilla, oak and pepper.
