Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a small batch single malt from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition, heavily peated at 45 PPM, and matured largely in ex-Bourbon casks. It was bottled at cask strength, 58.45%.
The nose is balanced, with rye bread, malt, peat smoke, young fruit, freshly cut grass and tea. The palate is oily and surprisingly complex, with apricot, grilled pineapple, vanilla, smoke, honey and chilli. The finish is soft but lasting, with honeycomb, smoke, lime and oak.
