Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 8 is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, bottled at 57.7% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring.
Peat smoke leads the nose, with charcoal, a smouldering campfire and a little barbecue, above honey, citrus, ripe pear, black pepper, nutmeg and a light salty edge. On the palate the smoke comes first, followed by vanilla, butterscotch and lightly toasted oak, with apple, orange and dried apricot in an oily texture. The finish is long and intense, with dark chocolate, sea salt and a slight bitterness.
