Kings County Straight Bourbon is a double pot-distilled bourbon made in Brooklyn, New York, and aged for between three and seven years in new charred oak barrels.
The mashbill is unusual: 80% New York-grown organic corn and 20% English Golden Promise malted barley, with no rye or wheat. The distillery conceived it more like a single malt Scotch than a traditional Kentucky bourbon.
The nose brings caramel, butterscotch, vanilla and milk chocolate. The palate is sweet, with caramel, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and dark chocolate over a full, slightly creamy texture. The finish is medium, with cinnamon, a gentle malty sweetness and a touch of honey.
