Kingsbarns Balcomie is a Lowland single malt from the Kingsbarns distillery near St Andrews in Fife, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured entirely in ex-Oloroso American oak sherry butts, and is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers treacle, sultanas and fruit loaf with cinnamon icing, along with a touch of dark chocolate and summer berries. Sweet tinned pineapple leads the palate, followed by orange peel and cake spice. The finish brings plenty of dried apricot and a hint of roasted hazelnut.
