Kingsbarns – Balcomie Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Balcomie is a Lowland single malt from Kingsbarns, matured entirely in American oak butts that previously held Oloroso sherry. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtering. The sherry casks give a balance of rich sherry spice and sweet tropical fruit. The nose is gently sweet, with cinnamon and warm pastry, then pears, green apples and light sherry. The palate is soft but rich in sherry, with creamy nuts, herbal notes and gentle oak. The finish balances spice with sweet fruit.
