Kingsbarns Distillery Reserve 2021 is a limited release, bottled at cask strength. It is a cask strength version of Kingsbarns Dream to Dram, made from malt matured in the same way: 60% in ex-Bourbon casks and 40% in first fill STR barriques. STR stands for shaved, toasted and re-charred.
It is a fresh, highly aromatic Lowland whisky from Fife.
The nose has baking spices with orange oil, vanilla, tobacco and a hint of apricot. The palate is sweet ginger pudding with freshly grated orange zest. The finish is of medium length, with oak spice, nutmeg, rhubarb and ginger jam.
