Kinnard And Drake Toasted Barrel Bourbon is a high-rye Indiana bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The whiskey comes from MGP Ingredients in Lawrenceburg and uses a mashbill with 36% rye. It spends more than four years in new charred American oak, then receives a second finish in a new toasted barrel. Toasting heats the staves more gently and for longer than charring, which is what sets this apart from the brand's standard straight bourbon. The nose has honeysuckle, cinnamon, clove and vanilla custard. The palate is soft and creamy, with butterscotch, apricot, lime and spearmint. The finish is medium, with powdered sugar, caramel, raisins and dark cherries.
