Koval – Rye Whiskey (50cl, 40%)

Koval Rye Whiskey is a single-barrel rye made entirely from organically grown rye sourced from farms in the American Midwest. Only the heart of the distillation goes into the casks, which are new, charred American oak barrels of around 114 litres. Each bottle holds whiskey from one barrel. It is bottled at 40% in a 50cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose brings baking spices, red pepper and caramelised sugar over toasted wood, with nutmeg, honey, vanilla and coconut. The palate is soft and lightly sweet, with baking spices, chocolate sauce, gingerbread and a hint of mint. The finish is fresh and surprisingly long, with maple syrup and a drying close.
