Koval – Single Barrel Rye Whiskey (20cl, 40%)

Koval Single Barrel Rye is an American rye whiskey from the Koval Distillery, bottled at 40% in a 20cl bottle and matured in virgin oak. The distillery was founded in 2008 by Robert and Sonat Birnecker, who left academic careers to start it. It describes itself as the largest independent craft distillery in the USA. The rye is grown locally and sustainably in the American Midwest. The whiskey is fresh and light, with soft, gently sweet notes of maple and corn and a classic spicy finish. Its grain spice balances sweeter ingredients, so it is often used in Manhattan, Sazerac and Scofflaw cocktails.
