An 18-year-old blended malt from Matsui Shuzou in Japan's Tottori Prefecture, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle. The distillery was founded in 1910 and began with shochu. It blends aged Scottish and Japanese single malts, with no grain whisky. The strength is reached using soft groundwater filtered through the volcanic rock of Mount Daisen. The nose is brown butter, hazelnut, vanilla, sage and cigar box, with a faint briny note. The palate is honeyed, with oak, brown sugar, orange peel, black tea and spice. The finish is dry and moderately long, with toasted almond, leather and mocha.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
