Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a 12 year old Japanese blended malt from Matsui Shuzo, matured in oak casks and bottled in 2016 at 43%.
The distillery stands in Kurayoshi, in Tottori prefecture, at the foot of Mount Daisen. The local water is an important part of distillation, and the region's swings in temperature influence maturation.
Nuts, almonds, malt, vanilla and raisins shape the profile, with a subtle hint of smoke.
