Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt whisky from Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
The whisky is a vatting of malt whiskies, including malt from Scottish distilleries, matured at the Kurayoshi distillery in ex-bourbon barrels for at least three years. Water from Mount Daisen is used in its production.
The nose is softly savoury malt with raisins, figs, sweet oak and honeyed vanilla. The palate is smooth, with raisin, honey, toasted nuts, cinnamon and vanilla, and a little fresh fruit. The finish is medium, warm and slightly bittersweet, with dried fig, toasted almond and gentle oak.
