Kurayoshi Sherry Cask Pure Malt Whisky (75cl)

Kurayoshi Sherry Cask is a Japanese blended malt from Matsui Shuzou, a Tottori producer founded in 1910 that also makes sake and shochu. It is bottled in 75cl. The malt whiskies were distilled in Scotland and shipped to Japan, where they are blended with Japanese whisky. Maturation is in American white oak, with a finish in Spanish sherry casks. Tottori water is used to bring it to bottling strength. Tasters describe a nose of iodine, orange blossom, key lime pie and sweet malted barley. The palate is rich, with ripe cherry, toasted cocoa, banana bread and a little wood smoke.
