Lagavulin 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt from the 2022 release, bottled in a 70cl bottle. Lagavulin has stood on its rocky bay for over two hundred years.
This expression is drawn from virgin oak and the distillery's smokiest reserves, with peaty casks leading spice and smoke alongside a deep sweetness.
The palate starts smooth and oily with sweet richness, then lemony citrus and sea salt bring freshness and a burst of spice. Mid-palate turns drier as the smoke builds, and the long finish is smoky and spicy, with great waves of peat.
