Lagavulin 12 Years is a cask strength Islay single malt from the 2024 Diageo Special Releases. It was matured in first-fill and refill casks and bottled at its natural strength of 57.4% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is a powerful, definite expression of the classic Lagavulin house style. The nose brings strong peat smoke with maritime notes, salty sea air and a little dark chocolate. On the palate, campfire smoke, leather and sweet vanilla lead, joined by oak spice, citrus and black pepper. The finish is long and complex, balancing smoke, salt and gentle sweetness.
