Lagavulin 16 Years is a peated Islay single malt that has matured for 16 years in oak casks. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and the label carries the distillery's founding date of 1816.
The nose is intense, with peat smoke, sea air, iodine, seaweed and sweeter notes. On the palate, dry peat smoke sits alongside sweets, saltiness and wood in a balanced way. The finish is very long and elegant, with peat, sea salt and seaweed to the end.
