This is a 26 year old Lagavulin, released in 2021 as part of Diageo's Special Releases and bottled at cask strength. Lagavulin stands on the southern shore of Islay and is known for a very slow distillation and a richly peated character.
The whisky is bottled at natural strength after more than a quarter of a century of maturation. It is described as combining deep peat smoke with the sweetness of dried fruit, with considerable power.
