Lagavulin – Distillers Edition (70cl, 43%)

Lagavulin Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is first matured in oak casks, then given an extended second maturation in Pedro Ximenez sherry-seasoned casks. This double maturation lets the second cask play a full part in the whisky's development rather than acting as a short finish. The Distillers Edition series was introduced by Diageo in 1997 as an extension of the Classic Malts collection. Raisins, dates, dark chocolate and treacle run through the maritime smoke, iodine and earthy spice of the distillery's peated character.
