Laphroaig – 10 Year Old 2015 SMWS Single 1st Fill American Oak Oloroso Finished Cask 29.311 Diesel à La Crème Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2026) (70cl)

This is a ten-year-old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 29.311 under the name Diesel à La Crème. It is one of 234 bottles from a single cask, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent its first eight years in an ex-bourbon barrel before moving to a first fill American oak Oloroso sherry barrel for the rest of its maturation. The Society's notes describe a nose of diesel and Armagnac, smoked butter on scorched brioche, apricot jam, molasses, geranium and soft leather. On the palate come burnt figs, tamarind and tobacco, with fruit scones and plum jam.
