Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 13 is an Islay single malt from a distillery founded in 1815 by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston. It is matured for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.9%, without chill filtration.
The nose is peat smoke, iodine and seaweed, balanced by vanilla, toffee and a touch of citrus zest. The palate is intensely rich, with smoky bacon, salted caramel, black pepper and charred oak in a briny, maritime frame. The finish is long, warming and smoky, with spice and sweet malt.
