Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt from the Cask Collection, described by the distillery as its richest and most complex expression. It is a marriage of single malts aged 7 to 21 years, matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, European oak, Oloroso sherry casks and quarter casks, and layered with peat, salt, spice and dark sweetness.
The nose brings pungent peat smoke and seaside minerals, with a hint of ash and chocolate. The palate is lively, with bitter chocolate, ash and a spicy chilli bite, and the finish is short and dry with a lingering sweet aftertaste.
