Laphroaig – 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 017

This is Batch 017 of Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength, a 10 year old Islay single malt matured in bourbon barrels. It is the cask strength version of the distillery's 10 year old. It is described as smoky and complex, with the smoky, medicinal and sweet notes expected from Laphroaig. In the tasting notes, the nose has cigar box and waxy vanilla, with honey muesli, toasted oak and buttery shortbread. The palate brings oak charcoal and burnt sugar, salted caramel, coffee icing, peppery woody spice and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is milky coffee and green oak with a maritime, spicy note.
