Laphroaig – 10 Years Old Sherry Oak Cask Finish (48%)

This is a 10 year old Laphroaig single malt Scotch whisky from the south coast of Islay, bottled at 48%. After its time in cask it spent more than 12 months in Oloroso sherry casks. The familiar, intensely peaty character of the classic 10 Year Old is joined by dark chocolate and maple syrup. The nose has smoked meat, maple syrup, barbecued lemon, charred oak and a hint of coffee. On the palate come toasted cedar and peat smoke, a little iodine, dark chocolate, honey and vanilla pod. The finish balances sherry sweetness with smouldering peat.
