Laphroaig – 10 Years Old Single Malt (70cl)

A 10 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, on the south coast of the island, in a 70cl bottle. Part of the barley is malted at the distillery over peat fires, using peat from local bogs. The whisky is matured for at least ten years in ex-bourbon casks, where the peat smoke meets vanilla and a little sweetness from the oak. The nose is medicinal peat smoke with seaweed, iodine, vanilla and citrus zest. The palate is full-bodied, with peat smoke, tar, sea salt, liquorice, black pepper and green apple. The finish is very long and warming, with medicinal smoke and dry peat.
