This is an 18 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 1997 and bottled by Signatory Vintage from a single bourbon cask, number 3371. The cask gave 243 bottles, each in a 70cl bottle. The nose is sweet, fruity and lightly medicinal, with dried grapefruit, dusty banana sweets, cold wood embers, a little spent gunpowder, aniseed and damp rocks on a beach. The texture is medium weight with no heat. On the palate, dry, spicy, crumbly peat meets hot wood embers and ash, with a subtler grapefruit note, iodine and a touch of rubber. The finish is medium, with fruit, ash, a little bitterness, aniseed and damp rock, then iodine and gentle coastal peat return.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
