A 36 year old Islay single malt, the first release in the Laphroaig Archive Collection, bottled at cask strength. It was matured in American oak casks and finished in a sherry-seasoned Oloroso hogshead. It is one of 400 bottles, each a custom-made, hand-blown glass bottle inspired by the sea glass found on Islay's beaches.
The colour is rich honeyed amber. The nose is honey-sweet with white peach and mango, creamy dark toffee, vanilla and cedar, then oil of wintergreen, singed sage and liquorice root. The palate is zesty and sweet with orange and tropical fruit. The finish is warm and lingering, bringing out peat and salt.
