Laphroaig Cairdeas Cask Favourites 10 Year is the 2024 Cairdeas release, a limited edition made for Friends of Laphroaig, in a 70cl bottle at 52.4% ABV.
The ten-year-old whisky combines the influences of two earlier releases, the 2019 Triple Wood and the 2021 PX Cask.
The colour is a deep, dark copper. The nose offers Brazil nut toffee brittle, vanilla custard, baking spices, chocolate-covered raisins and spiced orange. On the palate it is rich and oily, with smoked orange toffee, stewed peaches, dried fruit, coffee and liquorice root against campfire smoke. The finish is long, slightly sweet and dry, with peppery peat smoke.
