Laphroaig – Elements 1.0 2023 (70cl, 58.6%)

Elements 1.0 is the first edition in a new Laphroaig series that explores experiments with mashing and fermentation. This single malt was made using two sizes of mash tun, two types of wort, and both cloudy and semi-clear worts. It is bottled at cask strength, 58.6%, in a 70cl bottle, and is non-chill-filtered. The nose brings sea breeze, smoky bacon and smoked pineapple, with strawberry jam and glowing campfire embers. On the palate it is complex and spicy, with white pepper, exotic fruit, cloves and liquorice. The finish is long and warming, ending sweet and peaty.
