This is the second release in Laphroaig's Elements series, bottled at 59.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon casks, including barrels and hogsheads.
A fermentation of up to 115 hours brings extra tropical fruit notes, which sit alongside the soft smokiness of the peat. The colour is a pale gold.
The nose is fruity and subtly coastal, with stewed apples, vanilla custard, orange peel and light peat. The palate offers green apples, runny honey, cream soda and smoked seafood. The finish is sweet, with growing smokiness.
