Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt without an age statement. Master Distiller John Campbell has said it uses malts between 7 and 21 years old. It is matured in first-fill sherry butts, quarter casks, European oak casks and ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is full, smoky and maritime, with dark chocolate and ash, turning sweet and malty with roasted chestnuts towards the end. The palate is spicy, with strong smoke and chilli. The finish is dry and sweet.
