Laphroaig – Lore Islay Single Malt (48%)

Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt created by Distillery Manager John Campbell and named after the skills handed down through generations. It is a permanent addition to the range, bottled at 48% ABV. It matures in a combination of casks, including first fill sherry butts and quarter casks, and is said to include some of the distillery's most prized stock. The nose is rich and smoky with sea minerals, a touch of ash, bitter chocolate, vanilla, oily chestnuts and fudge; a drop of water adds clotted cream. The palate is richly peaty with a spicy chilli bite, and the finish is short and dry, then long and sweet.
