Laphroaig 10 Year Old in its cask strength form is the original Laphroaig, distilled in the way it was when Ian Hunter created it more than 75 years ago. It is the expression on which the other Laphroaig bottlings are built.
The malted barley is dried over a peat fire, and the smoke from Islay peat gives the whisky its rich flavour.
It is full-bodied, with a bold, smoky taste first, then a hint of seaweed and a surprising sweetness, followed by a long finish.
