Laphroaig – PX Cask (1L)

Laphroaig PX Cask is an Islay single malt in a 1 litre bottle, and the successor to Laphroaig Triple Wood. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky matured first in American ex-bourbon casks and smaller quarter casks, then received a further maturation in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It was the first Laphroaig to be finished in PX sherry wood, a sherry known for the natural sweetness of its dried grapes. The nose has sultanas, raisins and liquorice with a little smoke, and marzipan and almond come through with water. The palate is a wave of smoke with oak and heavier, sweeter sherry notes. The finish is dry, with concentrated smoke, sherry and oak.
