Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was first released in 2004.
The whisky was aged for around five years, then finished for several months in a quarter cask. The cask is small, so it does not need a long maturation.
The nose is oily and buttery, with toffee, nuts, hickory, rum and raisin ice cream and zest. The palate opens with a big rush of sweetness and fiery chilli heat, then TCP, sweet cereals and cola syrup. The medium-length finish turns fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.
