Laphroaig Quarter Cask is a non-age-statement Islay single malt, bottled at 48% ABV and non-chill filtered. It is first matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, then moved into smaller quarter casks for further maturation, which adds wood contact.
The colour is deep amber. The nose is heavily peated smoke and smouldering embers with sea salt, coconut, banana, vanilla and a light citrus lift. The palate balances smoke with malt sweetness, honey, oak spice, pepper and dried fruit. The finish is long and drying, with smoke, spice and a lingering echo of char and oak.
