This is the second release in Lark Distillery's Rare Cask series, a smoky single malt made at the Coal Valley Distillery in Tasmania. It is bottled at 52.5% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was finished in Seppeltsfield Para Vintage Tawny casks, which hold half a century of history.
The nose combines sweet caramel, soft vanilla, dark fruits and earthy campfire smoke. The palate brings smoky, sticky caramel and candied orange peel over vanilla ice cream, with Black Forest cake and cherry and cream. The finish is long and rich.
