Lindores Cask Strength Chapter 1 (60.2%)

This is the first release in The Cask Strength Congregation Batch series from Lindores Abbey Distillery, bottled at 60.2%. It is a vatting of whisky matured in casks that previously held bourbon, red wine (STR), Monbazillac wine and sherry. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The black bottle takes its design from the decoration on bricks found when the old Lindores Abbey was excavated. The nose is vinous and fruity, with ripe banana, beeswax, apricot, fresh pastry, red apple and peach. The palate is silky and balanced, with figs, apricot and cinnamon, blood orange, almonds and vanilla. The finish is medium in length, with honey sweetness, soft spices and nuts.
