This is a Lowland single malt from Lindores, bottled at 46%. It is matured in a selection of bourbon, wine and sherry casks, which are then blended together. Lindores ferments for 117 hours, one of the longest fermentation periods in whisky, and distils in one wash still and two spirit stills. The bottle takes its shape from the carved stones found when the abbey and farm were converted into a distillery. A QR code on the label tells the story in place of extra packaging. The name looks back to 1494, when the first officially recorded distillation of Scotch whisky took place at Lindores Abbey. The nose is soft, with vanilla, caramel, pear drops and toffee. The palate is creamy, with dried fruit, citrus and a touch of spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
