Local Heros Sweet Peat (70cl, 46%)

Local Heros Sweet Peat is a blended malt from D&M Winchester, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It is the most approachable of the smoky whiskies in the Local Heros trilogy from The Distillery at Coleburn, and is meant as a gentle introduction to peat while keeping a classic Speyside warmth. Soft sweetness sits alongside a light, friendly smoke. The nose brings caramel, vanilla and a hint of plum pudding, with a subtle waft of smoke behind. The palate opens with honey and pear drops, followed by soft, delicate peat smoke. The finish is of medium length and gently warming, with lingering sweetness and a light smoky fade.
